Thank you for your interest in our post's honor guard. We take
a great deal of pride in honoring our veterans that have passed.
We do a rifle salute, play taps, and present the United States Flag
to the next of ken at a veterans burial site directly after the
services. We also participate in Parades and dedications.

Colona American
Legion Honor Guard
Post 1233
Since 1961 Retired Master Sergeant William "Bill" Lundy
has assumed command of the Post 1233 Honor Guard. In 2006 Mr.
Bill Lundy retired from his commander position after 45 years of
distinguished service. He is still a part of our honor guard
when he is not in Florida fishing. Mr. Bill Lundy is a pillar
of our Legion and he is very appreciated and respected here. 45
GREAT YEARS! Thank You Bill!
We hold our Honor Guard meetings the Monday prior to
the post meeting. We start our meeting at 1900 at the "Foxhole
Lounge" downstairs at the legion post.
We are very Proud of the services we provide for
our veterans and their families and consider it an honor to be a
part of our honor guard. Our honor guard is also very
active with other functions such as parades, ceremonies, and other
patriotic functions that honor those serving past, present, and
future. We make sure all veterans graves are properly marked
with appropriate war era markers and we display a flag on all vets final
resting place. On Memorial day we also salute five different
cemeteries and march in the parade in Colona along with the Colona
fire dept., S.A.L., A.L.R., and the Auxiliary. We are always
looking for veterans to join our honor guard, if you are interested
please contact our new honor guard commander to
inquire. Participants must be legion members in good standing
and have served during a war era.
